MPSN Community

Core values

🕌

Community building

We believe that community engagement not only fuels social movements, but also forges strength of character in each person who participates in them.

🌍

Diversity

We believe that human diversity is a blessing and a strength, as we are reminded in the Quranic verses that we have been made into nations and tribes so that we may know each other.

⚖️

Public service

We believe that it is an Islamic responsibility for Muslims to serve the public good.

What we do

The MPSN Summer Fellowship is a one-of-a-kind experience that brings together talented young Muslims for two months in Washington, DC

MPSN provides room and board and an inspirational two-month program for Muslims who are working in a summer public service job in the Washington, DC, area. For two months every summer, between ten and twenty Fellows live cooperatively as one group, sharing rooms, cooking duties, and everything else housemates do together.

With DC as the backdrop, there are endless places to explore together — from monuments and museums to lectures and coffee shops. The MPSN fellowship provides free of charge living space in the shared MPSN residence and all meals for the months of June and July.

The program is built on three pillars: (1) a specialized curriculum on Islam and public service, (2) cooperative living, and (3) career mentoring from our extensive alumni network. Together, these components create an experience unlike any other available to young Muslims seeking to serve the public good (maslaha 'amma).

Fellowship dates 2026
